City Life: Your resource for Modern and Contemporary Lighting

If you have ever had or wanted to replace or add a fixture in your home and looked for something that doesn't look like EVERYTHING ELSE YOU SEE... then you know how hard it can be to find. Well, you are in luck. We at City Life specialize in the "stuff you don't see every day" pieces. UNFORTUNATELY, we cannot put every fixture on display here at the store. So I have put together a little treat for your eyes -a collection of my personal favorite chandeliers and pendants available through catalog! Keep in mind there is much MUCH more where this came from...

Sergei (aka Sputnik)-- A classic in mid-century modern and now contemporary desgin (Don't hate, I have this one at my house in gold).

Jonathan Adler Ventana Grande Chandelier- available in smaller sizes and matching sconces!

Uppark Linear Chandelier also available in silver.

Of course... The Jonathan Adler Parker Pendant. A staple here at C.L.

The Jonathan Adler Meurice 30 light chandelier. Some great customers here at City Life have this pendant beautifully displayed in their bedroom which is currently on Rate My Space at HGTV.com which you can view here.

The Letizia Pendant by Nuevo. A modern spin on a traditional piece... so beautiful when lit.
Jonathan Adler Havana 3 light pendant. (Shown in our store in a task lamp version).

A hands down customer favorite.... the Crystal Linear Chandelier by Nuevo.

Capri pendant by Jonathan Adler (available in orange, white, powder blue...)

Capri Saucer by.... you guessed it. Jonathan Adler.

Rico Espinet Candelaria available in 24" and 36" diameters in chrome and bronze (as shown in store).

I'm getting some wacky vibes from this "Filament" pendant by Nuevo... and loving it!

So there you go. I little trip inside my wacky-wonderful design state of mind. Call us at 714-255-9696 or shoot me an email at caitlin@citylifehome.com if you have any questions about pricing or sizes. Hope you enjoyed!

Comfort Sleeper 101

Ever heard of the American Leather Comfort Sleeper? I'm not surprised if you have... If you haven't, read further and find out about the most comfortable sleeper sofa on the market today... If you have, read further and find out some interesting facts that you may not already know.
American Leather is a Dallas based company founded in 1991 who stands today as a leader in the home furnishings industry. Eight years ago they teamed up with Robert and Barbara Tiffany to create a sleeper that was as comfortable to sleep on as it is to sit on. I know what some of you are thinking... "HA! It cannot be done." Well my friend, they did it.
One of the coolest features about this sleeper is the lack of bars and springs. We all have had at least one of those nights sleeping on a crappy old sofa bed at your great Aunt Mildred's house when you feel like there is a pole constantly sticking in your back... Why put your guests through that? The Comfort Sleeper has a wooden platform that requires none of that nonsense and is topped with five inches of premium comfort high density foam also available in a trademarked Tempur Pedic mattress. Eureka!
Another plus about these beauties is how small their footprint actually is. The mattress is pulled out from the very back of the sofa so it takes up 9 inches LESS than a conventional sleeper, allowing 9 inches MORE room for you to stretch out... Now if you're like me (5'2"), it might not be that significant. If you're like my husband (6'2"), this is a big deal. The Comfort Sleeper is also the only sleeper on the market that gives you 80" in length in a King, Queen, Queen Plus, Full, Twin, and Cot... just like every other bed in your home.
You think I'm done? Not quite.
The mattress is covered in an allergen free Crypton mattress cover. Is that the stuff that can kill Superman? No goof ball it's FABRICTECHNOLOGY! A dust mite barrier and waterproof, stainproof magic that adds years to your mattress life also keeping your mattress fresh for every guest you bring home whether it's in the first year you use it or the tenth.
Now if you have a curved staircase or a narrow door, don't worry about bringing it in through the window because Comfort Sleepers have the ability to break down and come apart piece by piece making delivery... a piece of cake. Seats too firm? Plush cushion option. Mattress too soft? Extra firm foam option. Warrantied against any defect in material or workmanship for three years. Hundreds of fabric and leather options to choose from..... I'm out of breath!
Rated best sleeper on the market by Apartment Therapy in 2008 and 2009 and "Best Value" by Consumers Digest. You are now an expert on the American Leather Comfort Sleeper! Hooray!!
Now what else is there? Oh yeah! Come into City Life and sit on one for yourself!
Savannah Sleeper
My personal fave... the Natasha sleeper
